BEGINNER TO ADVANCED PORTABLE EASEL NECESSARY INDIVIDUAL CRITIQUES INSTRUCTOR DEMONSTRATIONS This class will be a workshop for beginners to advanced artists in the tradition of the old masters. Students will paint landscapes en plein air, portrait and still life. It is anticipated that students will paint two paintings each day. Students will learn the basics of painting with emphasis on values, composition and the importance of the juxtaposition of color and shape. The advanced student will learn the refinement of their existing techniques. There will be critiques. Bill was born in New Jersey and after graduation from high school, studied at the Art Students League in New York City. In 1981, he moved to Houston, Texas to become Lajos Markos’s protégé. His paintings cover many subjects, but he is mainly known for paintings depicting life in Guatemala and Mexico, scenes of romantic figurative subjects, and landscapes. He has shown throughout the United States and Europe and in 1994 was selected as the demonstration artist at the Gilcrease Rendezvous. He has participated in many shows including the prestigious Prix de West Invitational in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and the Masters of the American West Show at the Autry Museum in Los Angeles, California.
